I am sure that everyone has heard the words "Human Trafficking". It's a word that I would hear and not really pay attention to, it seemed so far off, but once I decided to start listening I realized what is really happening.

Human Trafficking and Sex Trafficking are happening everyday, and come to find out, is HUGE in the area that I live in. I don't know about you... but that's not okay with me!

So you may hear me talk about this more and more... Evil can only continue when good men (people) do nothing.

Did you know that places like Craigslist and Backpage.com have in their classified sections, SEX ADS for "massage parlors" and really all kinds of "adult entertainment".

It has been documented that some of these ads are actually trafficking young girls and women.

Below there are two petitions that I ask you to read and to sign.

We must stand against evil... not just say, "oh that's terrible" we must take action as well.

Petition #1: Craigslist

Online classified ad websites like Craigslist have become the largest marketers of children trafficked into the commercial sex industry. The steady stream of exploited children for sale on Craigslist has had anti-trafficking groups demanding change for years. In the past 12 months, a trafficking survivor whose pimp forced her to advertise for her own statutory rape on Craigslist at age 11 wrote an open letter to Craig Newmark asking him to remove the “adult services” section where she was sold. Cash-strappednonprofits rejected donations from the Craigslist Foundation as tainted money. And 10,000 Change.org readers signed a petition asking Craigslist to stop profiting from child sex slavery.

After years of increasing criticism for their facilitation of child sex trafficking, Craigslist recently blocked the “adult services” section link to ads in the U.S. However, their “adult services” section continues to operate outside the U.S.

Petition #2: Backpage.com

Child sex trafficking on Backpage.com, owned by Village Voice Media, is becoming a disturbing trend.

Earlier this week a Georgia man was arrested for pimping two 17-year-old girls around the Nashville area. Detectives responded to a suspicious ad on Backpage.com and drove to a motel. There, they found the teens and their 37-year-old pimp, as well as a laptop computer, likely used for the online advertising. Just four days prior to that, four people in Denver were arrested for forcing a teen girl into prostitution. They also advertised her sexual services, including semi-nude pictures, on Backpage. And last year, a South Dakota couple was arrestedfor selling underage girls for sex on .... wait for it ... Backpage.com yet again.

Backpage's terms of use, of course, prohibit advertising for illegal commercial sex acts or exploiting minors, but both are happening anyway in Nashville, Denver, and Sioux City. And like Craigslist, Backpage and their parent company Village Voice Media are doing little to prevent the sale of children or trafficked adults on their site. Village Voice Media has a duty to ensure that young girls aren't being abused in the commercial sex industry with help from their website, and that they aren't facilitating human trafficking.

Back to School shopping is a whole new concept to me.

Yes, when I was in school I had my list of items that I had to purchase, but now I am faced with the reality that MY daughter needs to do some school shopping, as she will be starting pre-school this year! my baby!

I know that there are alot of sales and deals out there, but I want to hear from you. I've been hearing about "The LIST", that list you get with all the supplies you must purchase for your child. What do you think about the LIST? Do your children really use all the supplies they say you MUST buy?

Grocery Shopping Week by Week

Now being a mother of THREE I feel much more of a challenge to stay on top of things, to be organized AND to SAVE MONEY!!! Diapers... need I say more!

One of the things that I am trying to do is shop once a week for groceries, obviously using coupons and the sales. My first week back into the groove of things felt really good, so I thought I would share with all of you :)

So this is what I do:

- Tuesday or Wednesday (depending on when you get the new store ads) I gather together my ads and I find produce that is on sale. I make a list of those items.

- I think look in the freezer to see what meats, or pantry for pastas, beans, etc, and I start building meals.

I found that it was much easier to make a meal plan this way. Once I get my plan for this week done I will share it here.

Keep a Sock Basket!

How many of you have lost socks in the wash and end up with un-matched socks everywhere!? Well here's a solution.... every time you do laundry match all your socks, the few extras with out mates throw in the "sock basket" or for us, sock bag. Every time you do laundry you will do this, dump out your sock basket and do a matching session... I find at least ONE match! All the rest go into the bag or basket until the next load of laundry is ready.
I have no idea how much money I have saved doing this... but I know I have saved!

Clean out your Fridge!

At least once a week, take inventory. Designate half a shelf as "left-over central" so food doesn't get shoved to the back and spoil before you get to it.

Look for perishables nearing their expiration date and incorporate them into that nights menu. Not sure what to do with half head of broccoli? *I've got a great recipe! - see below.

*Also as things get low keep a list on the fridge of grocery items you need on your next shopping trip, makes it much easier come shopping time!

Save: $72 per month *the value of the food the average family throws out!!!

Here how my fridge gets organized:

Shelf 1: Drinks, packaged goods, sour cream, etc.

Shelf 2: yogurt, eggs, meats, left overs, etc

Drawer 1: Cheeses, lunch meats, bacon etc.

Shelf 3: Breads

Drawer 2: Produce - bell peppers, carrots, celery etc.

Drawer 3: Produce - mainly salad

This way I know right where to look! Nothing ever goes missing (well almost never) and I can tell when something is getting low.

So good luck getting that fridge organized and keep it clean!

Tuesday TIPS!

The whole idea behind Living WithIn the Limits was to share deals and strategies to live, like it says, within, the limits of your time and your money! There is no reason to over spend, go in debt, etc.... I've been there... it's no fun!

So today's TIP:

:: Create a Snack Basket ::

Buying bottled water, mints and snacks on the run can clear out the bank account!

Instead... purchase these items and store them in your car or in a basket on your counter top. Family can grab what they need on their way out the door!

Save: approx $30 per month!

Save even more money by getting FREE bottled water, gum, candy bars, snack bars etc!

We are stocked for waters, and other drinks that cost me at the most .20 each! (reg. $1.88) and breakfast & snack bars... perfect for little ones when errands are a must! My husband might roll his eyes when I walk in the door with arm-fulls of boxes of foods, BUT he's pretty happy when we have snacks all the time!

Here's most of our snacks - most of which were FREE btw! I also have my bottle water & other yummy drinks stashed away in another place!

I got up early, updated the sales prices. I made my list, placed all the coupons I was going to use into an envelope (had an extra envelope for back-ups), loaded up the kids & hubby and off we went!

We got to the store around 9:30 and I couldn't believe how many women were there with their hand full of coupons running from isle to isle. I saw two fellow coupon-ers I had met before, it's fun to see familiar f

I am taking them back today because...

when I was in Safeway I found the MDA pamphlet full of coupons (they were at the register under the little counter where you can write your checks)

I FOUND: $1 off 5 cans of Bush beans, this means I will buy 5 cans at .59 each. I will be saving $1 per can, the Raley's sale is through 8/18.

We eat ALOT of black beans & kidney beans in salads, burritos, chili etc, so finding a good deal is VERY exciting to me!

Safeway Trip

Here is my Safeway shopping trip.... I was so happy that they had a good sale on meats, we needed to re-stock!

Chicken Breasts .99/lb x 10 lbs = $9.90

Pork Roast .99/lb x 7 lbs = $6.93

*these are packaged as one HUGE piece of meat!

TIP: Ask someone in the meat department to cut the meat into smaller portions if you need them that way. I've done this at Safeway and at Raley's I had them cut a bone out of a roast!

Mission Tortilla Chips - $1.88

Cheerios (4) - 4/$6

Will use (4) $1 coupons from HERE to make it 4/$2 (.50 each)

*My Safeway isn't taking internet printable coupons for a week because they have been receiving so many fraudulent coupons! My cashier wrote a note on my receipt that I have coupons for my Cheerios and next week I have to bring in my receipt and coupons and they will reimburse me.

Has anyone else come across this in their stores?

I paid $24 and will get back $4 next week.

The list is easy to understand. We have made categories (Baby, Food, Health & Beauty, Etc.) we have also color coded to find deals even easier!

Red: Free items

Blue: items under $1.00

Green: everything else

*Pleas keep in mind that some prices will vary by region, but they should be very close!

We will be updating the list throughout the week, so make sure and check back often. If we add any new items they will be marked NEW by them so that they are easy for you to find.
